It appears that the Nobel Peace Prize Committee awards the Nobel Peace prize for doing, “nothing,” nada! Perhaps doing nothing brings about “peace.” It took Obama 4-months to pick out a dog.
“His diplomacy is founded in the concept that those who are to lead the world must do so on the basis of values and attitudes that are shared by the majority of the world’s population,” the committee said of Obama.
Obama’s diplomacy is founded in doing ‘nothing” except making a great speech. Let’s hope that doing “nothing” has not become the pre-requisite to winning the worlds most prestigious award.
Today, extortionists are running around free trying to extort money out of everyone from late-night talk-show host David Letterman, John Travolta and others.
The last few years, realtor’s have been trying to seduce the “uber-rich” to buy property up here in Colorado’s ski country with little success.

Now with Stallworth and Vick- the NFL is choosing the lesser of two evils? Killing someone while driving drunk is just wrong but hey … a little dog-fighting conviction now and then ain’t so bad. The hypocrisy of those who oversee professional sports is not only shocking it is insulting.
Obama says some Americans are “bearing false witness” in the debate over health care reform. The allegation that Democrats were seeking to create so-called deaths panels “an extraordinary lie.”
“I don’t watch my words very closely. I’m 76 years old, and I don’t have that much time on this earth. There’s very little people can do to hurt me, and so I say what I want to say. ~ the late columnist Robert Novak

The American people are concerned about the economy, job creation, and the unsustainable debt obligations incurred in the last 6 months. As job losses continue to mount, families’ worried about losing their health-care, paying their mortgage, and sending their children to college, continue to intensify.

During the 2008 Presidential primaries- there was a running skit on Saturday Night Live parodying Democratic candidate’s Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. The skit was to which candidate would handle the 3 a.m. phone-call better. The 3 a.m. phone call was a joke… until this week when President Barack Obama actually got the 3 a.m. phone call.

Now, I get a kick out of the occasional news story of some idiot who gets himself or herself into trouble. The stories that are about dumb criminals who get themselves into a moronjam are particularly funny, especially when their stupidity must give policemen a laugh when they arrive on the scene. But the stories about elected officials, teachers, policemen, firemen, the very people we look to for leadership, togovern us, to protect us and who do incredibly stupid things are becoming all too frequent in its reporting.
There are two types of people. There are the people who “get it” and those who don’t. Furthermore it’s the people who don’t get it that usually think they do like Donald Trump, Nancy Pelosi, Rod Blagojevich. It seems to me of late that besides the H1 N1 Virus there is another virus infecting America- the “STUCK ON STUPID VIRUS” or the D1 UMB 1 Virus and that more and more of our elected officials, cops, teachers, movie-stars have been infected

The British government published a blacklist on Tuesday of people recently banned from the country. Home Secretary Jacqui Smith said she decided to publish the “name and shame” list — which identifies 16 people banned since last October — for the first time to clarify what behavior Britain will not tolerate.

The jailing of Saberi clearly shows Iran’s contempt for women, the United States and the world courts. Saberi is innocent.
President Barack Obama has said he wants to engage Iran in talks on its nuclear program and other issues — a departure from the tough talk of the Bush administration. Iran has been mostly lukewarm to the idea, but on Thursday Iran’s hard-line president gave the clearest signal yet that the Islamic Republic was also willing to start a new relationship with Washington and that’s where Saberi’s arrest and conviction come in. Saberi is a political pawn, plain and simple.

That the worst is yet to come is the “good news” according to many of America’s leading economic experts. The bad news for American consumers, lenders, retailers and major employers is that America is sliding into a Great Depression and that the apsirations have to come down if we are to survive this, the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression of 1929.
Since the Ronald Regan years Americans have been living fat on the hog, borrowing to send their kids to expensive private schools and Ivy-League colleges. Americans have been borrowing to buy a home or a vacation home, buy a new car, borrowing to remodel an older home, going to the Mall and buying expensive electronics, video-gaming systems, eating out at expensive restaurants, the “daily-cup” of Starbucks.
The unraveling of an economy built on debt-fueled spending will be painful for years to come and the US economy clearly in a major recession if not a depression, means the end of rampant consumerism. Americans are in survival mode

As the Messianic “hype” continues today with Obama’s coronation, er ….”inauguration,” the reality is that after the galas, streamers, confetti, and porta-potties are all cleaned up in Washington, D.C., America will still be facing the same old economic realities we faced before King Obama was coronated. There is no way that Obama can live up to the hype surrounding his incoming administration nor keep all the promises he has made the American people.
