Radical political forces, activism, terrorism and single issues. Carbo n trading? Global warming? Environment? Discrimination and social justice? Democ racy what kind of system is best? Are other systems of government more appropriate in some emerging economies? Different systems of democracy. How democracy could work for a global government based loosely around the United Nations. Should the majority global population have power to alter how the global village is run?
Science and technology have morphed at such an exponential rate for so long that it may be beyond our ability to regulate or control.
We live in a time of momentous scientific and technological leaps, a time when corporations have a higher security clearence rating than the FBI agents assigned to investgate them. A time when the government must ask permission of the corporations to not only investigate them but to translate the information which the givernment agents are not fully briefed on. We live in a time when the military can wipe out an entire city with a Predator drone without leaving the confines of a windowless room at an airforce base in Nevada. A time when science and tecnologies can save and extend our lives as well as cause moral nightmares for religion. A time where the coporations can do a more extensive background check on invidiuals than the authorities. A time where science is disproving religions long held dogma.
The worst possible thing that could happen to us in a society with the new science and tecnology would be to put ourselves into a dangerous position that we could not get out of, only then realize that we might have had the capacity, through to have avoided it. Imagine waking up to a world dominated by an increase in fanatical growth, oriented religion, nationalism, and uncontrolled capitalism that leads to a situation that puts control of science/tecnology into the hands of a small group of ruling elite who oversee worldwide coporations that have more security clearence power, autonomy and better equipped army then the government.
THE ARK

High on a mountain in Eastern Turkey, on the Russian/Turkish border, it has been believed for thousands of years that an object older than recorded history resembling a ship is buried. But is it the ship Noah navigated through the Great Flood? Recent global warming has melted the ice cap on Ararat’s top. NASA photographs from an orbiting satellite have revealed, “Ararat’s Anomaly,” rib lines carved into the cliff-face thousands of years old indicating the presence of a ship.
If “Noah’s Ark” is found it will be the greatest archeological and anthropological discovery of all time. Finding an ancient wooden sea vessel, large enough to hold two of every basic type of land dwelling animal, buried high on Mt. Ararat has dire implications for it would confirm the reliability of the early Biblical record of the human race, it would mean that every land animal (including humans) has descended from the inhabitants of the ark and Darwin’s theory of evolution, the theory that man descended from apes, would have to be abandoned.
Charles “Bud” Trick, founder of The Creation Institute and spiritual-adviser to President Bush convenes a world summit to select member’s for an archaeologic expedtion to Ararat on the Russian, Turkish, and terrorist-sponsored Iranian border. Ararat, the most dangerous place on earth, is a hotbed of terrorism. Every one has their own reasons for wanting to see the expedition and recovery effort fail.
Science writer and mountain climber extraordinaire Zach Hall, whose experiences with rock climbing, ice climbing, and mountaineering on five continents led to magazine articles in Climbing and Natural History as a regular contributing author, is drawn into the expedition by promises of a book deal. The alleged ark is yet to be discovered by a qualified team of scientists but many seemingly valid sources, particularly Zach’s father Dr. Jack Hall, (the worlds leading expert on Noahs Ark) believes the Ark to be nothing more than a myth. The Ark Expedition to Ararat is merely a cover by the CIA to rescue nuclear scientists held prisoner in neighboring Iran. When a Chinese expedition finds a craft of extra-terrestrial origin intact in the ice of Gasherbrum, the race to find the fabled Noahs Ark is on and the Hall family has to contend with murder, intrigue, and sabotage as they confront a profound truth that will forever change the history of mankind.
