A person born in the Year of the Ox, for example, may be considered hardworking and dependable. So, now that the world’s financial crisis has arrived, what happens in the world if hundreds of millions of hard-working, dependable people no longer feel they can get a better life?

Global Warming: the “big lie.”
Posted in 200, Entertainment, Politics, Uncategorized, tagged Al Gore, Climate Change, Global Warming, John Stossel, Junk Science, Nobel Peace Prize, snake-oil salesmen on January 28, 2009 | Comments Off
In short, it was just a big lie. A big fat lie sold to gullible twenty-something journalists right out of J-school and spoon fed to the public by a media that did not have the intelligence to discern for themselves what should be printed.
For the last 20-years, global-warming alarmists continually stoked our fears about global-warming, the greenhouse effect, the polar ice-caps melting ….
Al Gore and his cronies launched multi-million-dollar campaigns to position certain theories as “junk science” or Global Warming in the popular mind, often failing to employ the scientific method themselves.
Obstructionism: the new political posturing
Posted in 200, Politics, tagged George W. Bush, Guantanamo Bay, Neo-Cons, obstructionism, Rush LImbaugh is an enemy of America on January 23, 2009 | Comments Off
The battle-lines have been drawn folks. The war is on and the real war is not over in “Iraq,” the real war is here, in our cities and suburbs as Americans fight to hang onto their homes, fight to find meaningful employment to support their families and keep the American system afloat. I label Rush Limbaugh as an “enemy of America” and encourage the Obama administration to practice obstructionist politics with his career. He, who for 16-years have thwarted every effort by a Clinton or Bush administration to effect any real change in America. In the days of the “old-west,” snake-oil salesman were run out of town by the local sheriff. Snake-oil salesman did not care if their product worked or did not work, they did not care about the health of the community they sold their poison in or preached their lies. Snake-oil salesman only cared about fleecing the public out of a few bucks to line their own pockets. To call Rush Limbaugh a “snake-oil” salesmen would be too kind. He is not a snake-oil salesman, he is a traitor, a public enemy, an enemy of America. I honestly d not believe Limbaugh gives a good God-damn about Americans, their quality of life, their dreams, hopes, aspirations, whether this country sinks or swims as a society. The Rush LImbaugh’s of America, who have benefited by every advantage this country has offered them and become successful by them , care only about their own personal power and wealth. If America should fail, the Rush Limbaugh’s of the world would be there to say, “See? I told you so. I told you so.” As if their obstructionism might have prevented the mess when in fact their obstructionism made the mess better
WAKE ME WHEN THE “HYPE” IS OVER

As the Messianic “hype” continues today with Obama’s coronation, er ….”inauguration,” the reality is that after the galas, streamers, confetti, and porta-potties are all cleaned up in Washington, D.C., America will still be facing the same old economic realities we faced before King Obama was coronated. There is no way that Obama can live up to the hype surrounding his incoming administration nor keep all the promises he has made the American people.
And the award goes to …. the Golden Globes

There has been a dichotomy in Hollywood ever since George Lucas released Star Wars in 1978. There are films which make money, hundreds-of-millions-of-dollars, are extremely popular with the movie-going public, but which do not win awards and then there are those “staid” artsy-/fartsy films which win awards but make little money or actually lose money.
The First “Nerd In Chief.”

Here’s the thing about having a “geek” president. It’s the Revenge of the Nerds on a national level.
For the last 50-years, the jocks, the conservatives have dictated American politics, business, economics. The big-3 made gas guzzling cars that no American wanted to buy simply to make their cronies over at Enron filthy rich- now the tables are turned. The Big-3 automakers may go out ofbuiness bailout or not and in ordfer to stay in business, they might actually have to build the kind of cars Obama, “a geek” wants them to build. While Detroit and Japan continue to deliver cars that are fashion accesories Obama has called for 1 million PHEVs on American roads by the year 2015. (plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs). The Big-3 automakers in know that this would be the end of their reign of their colossal greed, the oil-industry which charged Americans $5 a gallon of gas last summer for no discernable reason, there was no shortage, know that the end of their price-gouging for colossal profits would also come to an end.
The back-room deal-making in Washington has grown to epidemic criminal proportions. Vote “No Confidence.”

Over the last decade, the U.S. Congress has failed to produce legislative solutions to some of America’s most significant and tragic situations and events: the shootings at Columbine HMOs, September 11, presidential transgressions, corporate thieving like Enron, Wall Street, the housing crisis,. U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid calls George W, Bush the worst president America has ever had. Well, if he is the worst president America has ever had and deserves impeachment why, does he remain in power continually doing more and more of every conceivable thing that the public finds so objectionable?

You know that saying, “Tomorrow is the first day of the rest of your life?” No where is it more appropriate than the of the New Year. Today, January 1st is the first day of the rest of your life. There is no going back. If you don’t like the picture you find yourself in- paint a new one. But it would be a shame to lose everything we were without passing some bit of ourselves, our time, our talents down to the younger generation. They are our future. Find a youngster. Become a mentor!
