As a child of the ’60’s, many of todays blog readers are too young to remember that in the 1960’s and 1970’s- most rock songs were protests songs, in fact; much of the rock-n-roll movement was a protest movement, (anti-government, make love – not war, burn your brassiere’s). People bought rock albums as a political statement not because slick marketing executives at Wal-Mart made a big media event out of it.

The tragedy of the last 25-years is that we’ve seen corporate America like WalMart move in and take over America, peddling Chinese junk, thwarting unionization of its workers, working the employees to death while paying them meager wages.

I was walking home last night in the dark to see politcal campaign signs dotting the lawns up and down my street and I realized that it’s a con. Every four-years, the politicians put Americans through the meat-grinder, repeat the same lies every four years, politicians whose names we have never heard of make the same lame promises that somehow they manage to forget once they’re in office. Lozar is running for this, Peterson is running for that.
